Macrame is a fun and easy way to make jewelry by knotting cord and incorporating beads. You can vary your project with different colors and types of cords and end up with something just your style - whether that be relaxed and bohemian or sophisticated and sleek! In this class you will make a macrame bracelet with an adjustable closure.
What you will learn:
- How to set up your bracelet for knotting
- How to do two basic macrame knots: the square knot and the half square knot
- How to add an adjustable closure to your bracelet
-At least 9 feet of your choice of cord. Hemp cord is commonly used for macrame, but other materials (cotton, linen, leather, etc) work just fine too!
-Your choice of beads with large enough holes to fit comfortably on your cord. For example, for 1mm hemp cord, make sure the holes on your beads are 1mm or larger. Wood beads are commonly used in macrame because of their large holes, whereas holes on pearls are typically too small. It's also recommended that you avoid any beads with irregular shapes. Beads with a round shape are much easier to work with.
