A show-stopper - Come and learn how to create your very own 108-bead Mala with beaded tassel from a visiting Yogi!  This is MUCH more than just a jewelry-making class. In this class, you will learn the significance of all the various aspects of a Mala, from the number of beads to the knots in between each bead to the Guru bead and tassel - Every component of a Mala has great spiritual significance. This class is a full day class (6 hours) with a half hour break for lunch.

Materials: Please bring the following materials to the class:

For the Tassel: 

  • 1 Strand of 3-4mm beads (do not need to be round)
  • S-Lon Cord
  • 18g Craft Wire
  • 1 Large Bead Cap with hole
  • Spacers (optional)
  • G-S Hypo Cement

For the Mala: 

  • 2-3 strands of 6mm beads (108 beads required in total)
  • S-Lon Cord
  • Spacers (optional)
  • 1 Guru Bead (10mm or 12mm)
  • 1 Crimp Cover
  • G-S Hypo Cement

Tools Required (these will not be provided):

  • Tweezers
  • Thread Zapper (optional)

We will provide round nose pliers, bent nose pliers, chain nose pliers/flat nose pliers, wire cutters, and the bead board. Feel free to bring your own tools if you are more comfortable with those!  

There will be a 30 minute lunch break, you can either bring a lunch or go out for lunch, but please be aware that the class will resume right after the 30 minute break.

Please have your materials ready when class begins. The instructor will be available 30 minutes before class begins to help you select your materials, if needed. Materials for your project are not included in the class fee. You may choose from the selection in our store or bring your own. You can also bring your own tools as well. At the end of class you will pay for the materials you used for your project.

All materials are available for purchase at 10% off for 2 weeks prior (after you sign up) and 1 week after the class. No further discounts. 

Location: Classes are held at our store, 1544 Park Street, Alameda, CA.
